WASHINGTON, DC – In honor of World Lupus Day, which is May 10th, Chris Wilcox, whose family has been tragically affected by Lupus, is encouraging everyone to Band Together for Lupus Awareness.
World Lupus Day, the highlight of Lupus Awareness Month celebrated each May, is a day when organizations around the globe rally together to help increase awareness of Lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease that affects more than 5 million people around the world.
Throughout the month of May, the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) will host special events and activities designed to educate individuals, organizations, and companies so they can help bring attention to the disease in their own communities.
Want to support the LFA? The following are easy ways YOU can this World Lupus Day:
- Tell 10 friends about Lupus and ask them to donate $10 by texting LUPUS to 80888 to support life-saving research and education programs.

This is a very special Lupus Awareness Month, as the LFA recently announced that the American College of Rheumatology has issued new guidelines for screening, treating, and managing lupus. Wilcox is very passionate about Lupus and hosts an annual charity golf outing that benefits the LFA. Money raised goes to fund research with the hope of finding the cause or a cure for Lupus.
